Roxanne Swentzell is a Native American contemporary pueblo artist with a gallery located in the Poeh Cultural Center in Pojoaque, NM near Santa Fe. Her clay and bronze sculpted figures represent a full range of emotions and irrepressible moods. Roxanne focuses a lot on interpretative female portraits attempting to bring back the balance of power between the male and female, inherently recognized in her own culture. She increasingly uses a powerful sense of humor to communicate. Though steeped in her own culture, Roxanne's work demonstrates an astounding universality, speaking to people of all cultures. She is also a founder of Flowering Tree Permaculture to do research and education on all topics that pertain to the ideas of Permaculture as a way of looking at the world based on the laws of nature and to consciously imitate these working ecosystems to create diverse inter-related cultures.
